Having worked with junior and middle school students since 2019, Mara is committed to nurturing children’s curiosity and a passion for cultivating critical and creative interpretations of texts. She incorporates history and current social contexts in the discussion of literature and non-fiction texts. Having pursued literature during tertiary education, Mara enjoys crafting analytical essays and creative pieces revolving around the themes of fantasy, action and adventure. Amongst her favourite books are The Kingkiller Chronicles by Patrick Rothfuss and Warbreaker by Brandon Sanderson

Outside of her teaching and academic study, Mara has started learning Chinese and enjoys spending her free time learning new video editing techniques on Davinci Resolve.
